Individual, couple, and family therapy. Psychotherapy. Mental Health. Therapy. Counseling. Therapist. Counselor. Nashville, TN

George Seay III, LMFT

I believe that everyone is capable of change and understand that change looks like is different for each person. As a therapist, I work alongside my clients and become a resource for them when they are ready to make changes. My goal is to work collaboratively with clients so they can find the relief they are looking for. Whether I work with clients for just a few sessions or for long-term care, I look forward to being a coach, trainer, and cheerleader.

Education

M.MFT, Lipscomb University

B.S., Psychology, Oakwood University

Therapist Experience

Before becoming a therapist, I had the pleasure of working with adolescents, children, and their families as a case manager then as a behavior coach in the school system. This work taught me that it is never too late for someone to make changes in their life if they are ready and willing to do the work. My time in the classroom working with students and their families inspired me to become a therapist.

As a therapist, I have worked primarily in outpatient settings with a diverse clientele that has helped me develop into a well-rounded clinician.

Therapy Interests

My areas of special clinical interest include anxiety, depression, self-esteem, life transitions, relationship distress, self-worth issues, and systemic conflict.

I use an integrative and evidence-based approach to treatment that includes cognitive-behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, narrative therapy, and Gottman method interventions. I have also received training in mediation and cultural competency.
