Jon Nemcek, LMFT
I am dedicated to the process of helping individuals, couples, and families discover lasting healing and growth in their lives. I’m eager to help people gain insight into the inner workings of their mind and heart, leading to a greater understanding of the core beliefs that inform how they view themselves and the world. I am a believer that once we, as individuals, can become compassionate toward ourselves, we can then choose to make our relationships more meaningful and fulfilling. In my clinical practice, this translates to an honest and empathic style of therapy that does not shy away from difficult subjects.
My hope is that our therapist-client relationship will model the message that you are a valuable and capable human being. When we meet, I will do my best to provide a stable and caring presence committed to developing a genuine and trusting relationship with you. It’s important to me that this relationship is honest and without judgement so you feel comfortable to talk about your reasons for coming to therapy. Our time together will be focused on your health and growth. The perspective that I offer is not only informed by my clinical experience but also by the latest scientific research.

Therapist Experience
Before becoming a mental health clinician, I held administrative, sales support and marketing positions in both the healthcare software and advertising industries in Nashville, TN.
In addition to my experience in private practice, I have worked in non-profit settings with a diverse population of individuals, couples and families. Part of this experience was working in the Davidson County Correctional Development Center, where I offered therapy to individuals awaiting sentencing.
Therapy Interests
My areas of special clinical interest include: life transitions, aging, spiritual and existential distress, grief and loss, premarital counseling (SYMBIS certified), couple or marital conflict, anxiety, depression, trauma (EMDR trained), co-parenting, and addiction. I use an integrated and evidence-based approach to therapy that includes interventions from Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Common Factors, Bowenian Family Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and Gottman Method Couples Therapy.
